The school board consists of seven members, elected in districts to serve four-year terms. The superintendent is selected by the board and serves as the chief executive officer of the school system. While the board is responsible for setting policy, the superintendent and his administrative team manage the daily operations of the school district.
Regular board meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at the school system's administrative offices on Royall Avenue. Public comments are welcome at the board meetings and time is provided during each regular board meeting for citizens to speak. Committee meetings are held each month and additional board meetings are scheduled as needed.
