North Carolina Graduation Project

What do you wish you knew?

What are you interested in?

What do you want to learn even more about?

The North Carolina Graduation Project
will help you learn it!!!

Why do we have to do a graduation project?

Graduation projects are being implemented as an extension of the NC Standard Course of Study to meet North Carolina Exit Standards for all students entering the ninth grade in the 2006-2007 school year. The projects are student centered: the students will choose their topic which must be approved by the Rosewood High School graduation project advisory team. The graduation project is an opportunity for students to stretch academically and demonstrate and apply 21st century skills learned in a real world situation.

The four required components to the North Carolina Graduation Project are as follows:

              Research Paper  (6 - 10 pages)

              Product  (tangible or intangible)

              Portfolio  (Document Binder)

Oral Presentation   (7 - 10 minute explanation of product)

What skills will be demonstrated?

  • Technology skills
  • Employability skills
  • Language skills-reading and writing
  • Time management skills
  • Real-life goal setting, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Self-directed and life-long learning skills
