NC A&T
There is an exciting academic opportunity offered through the agricultural education program at NC A&T State University to establish a dual-enrollment course for high school seniors concerning rural and agricultural leadership.
The three-hour course will be offered totally online with class beginning
on January 6th. The tuition for the course is $296 with selected students receiving funding support of $100 for tuition and the admission fee of $45, leaving a balance of $196. When considering the cost of higher education today this is a very cost effective and dynamic opportunity.
The deadline to sign up for the course is October 1, 2010.

Navy Scholarship (NROTC)
This $180,000.00 scholarship is available to graduating seniors who will go to college first and then commit to 5 years of enlistment.

Harvard University
Harvard University announced that from now on undergraduate students from low - income families will pay no tuition. If your family earns less than $60,000.00 a year and you are an honor student you are eligible to apply. For more details go to www.fao.fas.harvard.edu or call 617-495-1581. Elon University is looking for Junior applicants that are academically superior and exceptionally involved in activities that may benefit their university. Selection is not based on financial need. Benefits include early notification for a Presidential Scholarship valued at $14,000.00 - $18,000.00 over 4 years and an invitation to apply for Elon's prestigious Fellows academic and scholarship programs.
The following is required for eligibility:
* An " A " average
* A combined SAT score of 1870 or higher for critical reading, math , and writing ( updated scores will be taken
from retests taken by December 5.)
or
* An ACT score of 28 or higher ( updated scores will be taken from retests taken by December 12.)

Scholarship recipients are recent graduates of North Carolina high schools who have a four-year cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and are of Hispanic/ Latino background. Hispanic high school graduates who are selected are talented youth who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service. Candidates must attend a community college or a 2- or 4- year college/university. Preference wil, l be given to students who enroll full time. However, part-time students are encouraged to apply. In addition, preference will be given to foreign-born applicants or the native born children of foreign-born parents. Applications for each school year must be postmarked by of each year. The Maynard Scholarship is a four-year $20,000.00 scholarship awarded to outstanding seniors each year. This scholarship is modeled after the NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship and as so, recipients will be expected to teach in a public, charter or government school for four years in one of the stated counties following graduation. Individuals have up to seven years to complete this requirement. Applicant Eligibility

Looking for Black Female Students
It is designed to address their absence in the field of computer technology. Dr. Jason Black is the Principal Investigator of a recently awarded $552,000 NSF Grant entitled African-American Women in Computer Science. The grant provides scholarships from $4000 to $10,000 per year for female African American students.
