What is FBLA?

FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America.  It is a national career and technical education organization that provides many opportunities to students who are interested in business.  Students have the opportunity to attend conferences where they get to interact with business professionals as well as other FBLA members.  Students also have the opportunity to compete at various levels, earn scholarships, and participate in leadership activities, and provide service to the community.

Who can join?
Anyone who is taking a business course first or second semester during the school year can join.  Also, anyone who has completed 2 or more business courses may join, but are not eligible to be an officer or compete.  Club dues are $14.
 
What do we do?
Each year, Southern Wayne High School's chapter of FBLA participates in the following activities:
  • Wayne County Fair Booth
  • Homecoming Float
  • Thanksgiving Basket
  • Empty Stocking Fund
  • Fundraiser
  • Regional Competitive Events
When do we meet?
FBLA meets on the first Thursday of every month during homeroom in library.  Meetings last from 9:30-10:00.  Students are reminded to check in with their homeroom teachers before they go to the meeting.  All students must have a pass in order to attend the meetings.
