STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
From the Desk of the Principal...
Welcome to Spring Time at Dillard Middle School!
The students and staff at Dillard Middle School are enjoying Spring and we are in the EOG Mindset! Student Report Cards were sent home on Friday, April 3rd. Contact the school if you do not receive a Report Card for your child. Our focus is preparing for the end of the school year and the assessment of our academic progress. It is imperative that students attend school daily and come to school on time. Tardy students miss essential instruction which affects their ability to be successful!
Dillard Middle School is excited to welcome Mrs. Mary Kay James to our staff as an additional Assistant Principal for the remainder of this school year. Mrs. James is a retired WCPS Administrator. She is at our school as a part-time administrator and she is already busy with students and teachers. We also welcome Officer Alvino Daniels as our full-time police officer. Officer Daniels is busy with learning the skills of a School Resource Officer and he is a needed support to ensure safety and protocol in our school. We welcome you to Tiger Land.
Our Dillard Tigers are busy into their Baseball and Girl's Soccer schedules. Come and support our teams. Go Tigers!
Dillard Middle School students and Science teachers participated in our school-level Science Fair on March 31st and April 2nd! Our students and their teachers did an outstanding job. Thank you to Ms. Melissa Allen and Ms. Victoria Marcheski for facilitating our Science Fair Expo. We also thank our Seymour Johnson Air Force Base community volunteers and Mr. Andrew Forsleff, WCPS Lead Science Teacher, for judging our student entries. Congratulations to our student winners!
Warmer weather is here and students are being reminded that our school follows the WCPS Standard Dress Code policy established by our Board of Education. All students are expected to follow this policy. Girls are being reminded that skirts, dresses and shorts cannot be more than 3 inches above the knee. Sleeveless shirts and tops are not acceptable and shirts and tops must cover the midriff area at all times (sitting and standing). Dillard Middle School adminstration and faculty are expected to support BOE policies at all times. We need the support of students and their families to ensure that this policy as written and adopted is followed. If you have any questions, please contact school adminstration or review Policy 4305 under School Policies which can be accessed on the WCPS home page. Additionally, no headwear (hats, caps, hoods, kerchiefs, curlers, seatbands, etc.) or sunglasses can be worn inside the school buildings.
Don't forget to order your 2014-15 Dillard Middle School yearbook! It has been a great year with great memories! Please contact the school office to place your order. Student Spring Picture day is coming...May 6th....get your smiles ready!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's time at school, please make contact with us. We are determined to create an educational environment that is safe, supportive and encouraging for all.
