  • The purpose of Edgewood Community Developmental School is to provide, within the framework of the public schools, appropriate educational and training programs for students classified as mild to moderate, severe and profound mentally disabled who require intervention beyond that provided by other special education programs in attaining full educational benefits.  Towards this end, the staff of the school is committed to the belief that each child should have a fair and full opportunity to reach his potential. This right should include the opportunity to be educated along with non-disabled peers in regular classrooms where appropriate.  It is further recognized that each exceptional child is a unique individual and all related school services must be designed to meet his individual needs.
