My name is Denise Johnson, I am the Middle School Self-Contained Special Education teacher. I have been teaching at SCHS since 2002 and it has been a wonderful experience. I obtained a Bachelor's degree from Mt. Olive College in 2000 and a Master's Degree in Special Education from University of Phoenix in 2008.

I believe all students can learn and need to be provided with a positive and active learning environment. As a special education teacher, I implement learning strategies and methods that enhance student learning. Students must take advantage of the learning opportunities they are presented with to reach his or her fullest potential. As a teacher, I must adapt to the student’s learning styles and display a positive attitude about learning. Learning is an ongoing process and I am a teacher who is a lifelong learner.
