From the Desk of the Principal...
The 2013-14 school year is ending within a few days. The staff, students and their families, and school volunteers have been busy with EOG testing, NC Final Exams and preparing to close out this current school year with success. Our last school day for students is Friday, June 13th and it is an Early Dismissal Day for our students. Our school's 4th Quarter Academic Awards Assemblies will be Thursday, June 12th. Congratulations to all of our students who have worked hard and deserve this special recognition.
Dillard Middle School is proud to announce its 8th Grade Graduation event on June 13th at 11:00 a.m. Our school welcomes Dr. Dwight B. Cannon, WCPS Board of Education member, who will be our 8th Grade Graduation featured speaker. This is an exciting time for our 8th grade students and their families. It is a time to celebrate successes and the opportunities that await them in their high school years. A big thank you to our hard-working Parent Teacher Organization who is providing a breakfast for our 8th grade graduates on the morning of June 13th.
The students' last report cards will go home on Friday, June 13th. If your child does not receive their report card, then please contact the school's front office. Students who owe monies for cafeteria charges or lost library books or textbooks will receive a copy of their final report card. In addition to their report card, students will also receive their EOG testing information and scores along with a parent letter explaining the new Level 1-5 ratings. Parents are encouraged to contact the school if you have questions or concerns regarding this information.
Dillard Middle School, along with the other WCPS schools and offices, will operate on a 4 day work week for the summer months. Beginning Monday, June 16th, the school's office hours will be Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Have a very safe summer and enjoy time with your children and your family. The 2014-15 school year begins on Monday, August 25th!
