DECEMBER STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
From the Desk of the Principal...
Welcome to the Second Semester of the 2014-15 school year!
Student report cards for the second grading period and the first semester were distributed on Friday, January 23rd. If you did not receive your child's report card, please contact your child's homeroom teacher or the school's front office. It is so very important that parents and families remain knowledgeable of their child's academic status. Academic Awards Assemblies for all grade levels is Friday, February 6th. Contact your child's teacher for specific times. If your child is currently at risk for academic failure for the 2014-15 school year, then your child's report card should have been sent home with a letter from the school's administration. Please contact your child's teacher(s) or the school administration immediately if your child is at risk for failure for this school year. Our goal is for ALL students to be successful and prepared to progress to the next grade at the end of this current school year.
As a reminder to students and families, our school follows the WCPS Standard Dress Code policy established by our Board of Education. All students are expected to follow this policy. This policy includes expectations for coats as stated, "For security reasons, coats may not be worn inside the school building during the school day. Coats may be worn during class changes if the student is exiting the building. Coats may be worn to school and placed in the student's locker or hung in the classroom." Dillard Middle School adminstration and faculty are expected to support BOE policies at all times. We need the support of students and their families to ensure that this policy as written and adopted is followed. If you have any questions, please contact school adminstration or review Policy 4305 under School Policies which can be accessed on the WCPS home page. Every effort is made to ensure that students are comfortable and warm while in the school buildings while also enforcing the policies of the Board of Education. Additionally, no headwear (hats, caps, hoods, kerchiefs, curlers, seatbands, etc.) or sunglasses can be worn inside the school buildings.
Our last home basketball game is Monday, February 2nd as we host Spring Creek Middle. Come out and support our Tiger Teams! The last game of the season is Monday, February 9th at Rosewood Middle School. A big thank you to our coaches and athletic department for a great season!
