WCPS students raise over $11,000
for "Pennies for a Purpose"
 
Earlier this school year, participating schools worked to raise money for the local Red Cross through its annual "Pennies for a Purpose" campaign. Activities varied by schools, and ranged from decorating water bottles for collecting coins to classroom competitions to talent contests. 
 
    
"The Wall That Heals" has left, but
memories and tributes remain

WCPS students and staff recently participated in various activities in conjunction with "The Wall That Heals" events held at Wayne Community College to honor the men and women in uniform who served and died in the Vietnam War. 
    
Shown above is a digital book, which showcases the artwork and essays entered in the Veterans and Patriots Coalition Poster and Essay Contest. The contests required participating students to demonstrate in words or in art the following theme: "What Freedom Means to Me."
