What is Effective Teacher Training?
There is a 24-hour course, co sponsored by Wayne County Public Schools and Wayne Community College, which is required for all substitute teacher applicants. The course will provide practical training in five critical skill areas that include planning, instruction, behavior management, human relations, and professional growth. Applicants will also be introduced to WCPS policies and procedures.
Note: If you have a current teaching license or three or more years at a public or private school as a teacher assistant, you will NOT have to take Effective Teacher Training, but you will need to complete SmartFind Training to secure a substitute teacher position.
