Mission Statement

The mission of Grantham School is to develop lifelong learners by challenging, inspiring, and nurturing students to achieve through academic goal setting, character development, and stewardship.

What Every Parent Should Know

We are committed to academic excellence at Grantham School.  Our goal is to spend as much time as possible focusing on student achievement.  Instruction is disrupted for an entire class when students arrive late or leave early.  Please assist our staff in providing a quality educational experience by adhering to the listed procedures.

*  Students are to be in class and prepared to begin at 7:45 each morning.  Tardies at Grantham School are extremely high.  Parents must sign their child(ren) in if they arrive late.

*  The afternoon dismissal bell rings at 2:45 each afternoon.  Children leaving prior to the afternoon dismissal bell will be assigned an unexcused tardy.  All early dismissals shall be coded as unexcused unless a note from a doctor or dentist is received.  Early dismissal departure time is 1:15.

*  Students shall not be signed out after 2:30 (12:30 on early dismissal days) due to excessive classroom interruptions caused by students being called to sign out.  Please make an extra effort to schedule appointments after school and on days students are not in school.

School Board policy states that three (3)  unexcused tardies count as one absence.  Therefore, Students will have an absence recorded on the attendance record each time he/she accrues three (3) unexcused early departures and/or late arrivals.  Also, parents/guardians transporting their child(ren) shall utilize the assigned car-rider line to wait for their child(ren).  We thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping Grantham School reach academic excellence by increasing student engagement throughout the school day.
