Children With Special Health Care Needs Help Line
The Help Line is an information and referral Help Line for those living with, caring for and concerned about a child with special health care needs.  Callers can learn about health care programs as well as funding resources available to North Carolina residents. 

Exceptional Children's Assistance Center (ECAC)
This is a training and information center that provides free information and assistance with educational issues to parents of children with disabilities. They offer a lending library, newsletter, and a Parent Info Line answered by parents. Telephone toll free 800.962.6817 or 704.892.1321.

Family Support Network of North Carolina (FSN)
Family Support Network of North Carolina promotes and provides support for families with children who have special needs. A directory is provided that enables families to search for national and state organizations. Telephone toll free 800.852.0042.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a law ensuring services to children with disabilities throughout the nation. IDEA governs how states and public agencies provide early intervention, special education and related services to more than 6.5 million eligible infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities.  Infants and toddlers with disabilities (birth-2) and their families receive early intervention services under IDEA Part C. Children and youth (ages 3-21) receive special education and related services under IDEA Part B.

NC Department of Public Instruction-Exceptional Children
The mission of the Exceptional Children Division is to ensure that students with disabilities develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, and vocationally through the provision of an appropriate individualized education program in the least restrictive environment.

Vocational Rehabilitation Services
The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services provides counseling, training, education, transportation, job placement, assistive technology and other support services to people with disabilities.
