The School Health Program is made up of a dedicated group of school nurses who make it possible for students with health conditions to attend school safely. The nurses serve all of Wayne County's Public Schools with an emphasis on the elementary school population. School Nurses are responsible for developing care plans for students requiring special health care procedures, monitoring immunizations for compliance with state law, and performing certain screenings and follow up. They also educate students, staff and parents on health topics and manage acute health problems in the school setting.
If you are a student, or a parent of a student who has a health condition requiring interventions during the school day, please contact Pam Anderson, RN, Manager, School Health Services at (919) 731-6310.
