Welcome, Military Families!
"Our military children are awesome...but they have extra hurdles to clear, burdens to bear.
We have a sacred responsibility to take care of them."
~Former US Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates
Wayne County Public Schools is happy to have your family in our school system. We take pride in serving our military families and have a system-wide Local Action Plan in place to address the needs and issues specific to military families. To ensure that our school system remains the most military-friendly, we have a counselor dedicated to our military community. In this role, the military counselor serves as a consultant, coordinator, and liaison to all schools in the system.
The Military Counselor website is an outreach initiative intended to serve as a communication tool for military families seeking resources: information about education for military students, PCS, deployment, special needs, and the like.
