WCPS to hold “Sold Out” events
This week, former professional athlete and motivational speaker, Roman Gabriel III will return to Wayne County to challenge Wayne County Public Schools high school students to make positive life choices. Over the course of this three-day event, hundreds of high school students from across nine schools will have the opportunity to attend Sold Out assemblies.
The annual Sold Out assemblies have been sponsored by the local ABC Board since 2012. The Sold Out events, which have been held in both middle and high schools, promote making good decisions, drug and alcohol abstinence, and goal setting. This is the second time this school year Mr. Gabriel has presented at WCPS schools. In October, he led assemblies at 10 middle schools.
“We appreciate the Wayne County ABC Board and Mr. Gabriel for facilitating these annual events, and for their ongoing efforts to help students recognize the importance of making positive life choices,” states Dr. David Lewis, Assistant Superintendent for Accountability/Information Technology/Student Services.
