CIS Tutors & Mentors
Communities in Schools (CIS) of Wayne County is a nonprofit organization that works to provide a network of support for WCPS students by surrounding them with volunteers, mentors, and community-based resources. The CIS tutors and mentors help support WCPS students in the areas of academics, behavior, and goal setting. Other examples of CIS student support include the Graduation Coach program at Goldsboro High and Southern Wayne High, the Great Leaps supplemental reading program at Meadow Lane Elementary, Teen Court, Wayne TeenZone, and supply drives which help generate thousands of dollars worth of school supplies for WCPS students annually.
