Alert Now

The AlertNow messaging system allows for instant school to home communications. From emergencies to weather-related closures/delays to general reminders, AlertNow can deliver 6,000 messages per minute!

Automated Attendance Messages - If a child is absent, tardy, or "signed out" early from school, parents and guardians will receive an automated attendance message through the district’s AlertNow system. The automated attendance messages will be sent home Monday through Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Parent Portal - Parents and guardians can customize how they want to receive messages and where they want them sent. Send a message to your home phone, work phone, cell phone, or e-mail. It's your choice about where and how messages are delivered. To sign up for the Parent Portal, please complete the following Request Form. After you provide all of the required information, your request will then be processed. AlertNow will then email you information, including a login ID and temporary password, to access your Parent Portal account. After your Parent Portal is set up, you can click on  Sign In to access your account. (During the last three weeks of school, Parent Portal accounts will not be created/updated)

Message Replay - Click on the Message Replay to hear school or district messages sent to your contact number. For more information about this feature, click on Replay Information.

Wrong Numbers - Are you receiving messages and do not have a child enrolled in Wayne County Public Schools? Please call 919-705-6125 so we can investigate the number being called. In addition to making sure unnecessary calls to your number are stopped, once we identify which student the phone number is currently assigned to, we can contact his/her parents to verify their most up-to-date contact numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions - The message started playing and then stopped. Why? Why is my answering machine recording only half of the message? Will the system call my extension? My caller ID showed that the school called, but there was no voicemail. Why? Find answers to these frequently asked questions and more, by clicking on Parent Call Facts.
