Hearing Screenings: Hearing Screenings for grades Kindergarten, First, Second and Fourth will take place district-wide on September 2, 3, and 4. If you do not want your child’s hearing screened, you must notify your child’s teacher in writing by Friday, August 29. In an effort to conserve resources, parents will only be notified if their child does not pass the screening. All students who do not pass or who were absent on screening day will receive a follow-up screening by the WCPS audiologist. If you have any questions, please contact the speech-language pathologist at your child’s school.
Kindergarten Staggered Entrance: Please be reminded that the district has scheduled a staggered entrance for kindergarteners during the first week of school. Students will be split into four small groups. Each group will attend only ONE FULL DAY OF SCHOOL Monday, August 25 through Thursday, August 28. On Friday, August 29, 2014 all kindergartners will report to school. Please contact your child’s school if you are unsure which day your child is scheduled to attend.
