BOARD OF EDUCATION
DISTRICT 6 SEAT
VACANCY – NON-PARTISAN
Effective February 7, 2020, a vacancy has been created on the non-partisan Wayne County Board ofEducation by the passing of District 6 representative Richard W. Pridgen. Eligible citizens who reside in District 6 who are interested in serving on the Wayne County Board of Education should submit:
- A completed application available from the school board office listed below or online at: Board Vacancy Application
- Proof of residency in Wayne County Board of Education District 6 (e.g., driver’s license, voter registration card, current utility bill, etc.);
- A letter of interest, no more than three (3) pages, outlining candidate’s background and listing three strategies for advancing the Board’s Strategic Plan, which is available at the school board office listed below and online at:
Strategic Plan Summary;
- A resumé; and
- Three (3) letters of recommendation.
Documents must be received by no later than 5:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) March 11, 2020.

To be eligible for the vacated seat, candidates must live in Wayne County Board of Education District 6, and are eligible without regard to political party. The Wayne County Board of Education is non-partisan. Appointment to the seat will be for the remainder of the term expiring December 5, 2022.
