Parent Information

Please check your child's Home Folder each night for information that may be sent home and homework assignments. Homework sheet should be checked nightly and initialed. Homework is listed on the homework sheet and reviewed in class. Wednesday's are a Remote Learning Day for students. Please remember Wednesday's are still considered a school day and students should be working at home on provided school work. Students will have a work packet sent home on Wednesday's. Students should try to complete as much work as possible in their Work Packet. Students may also read for 20-30 minutes.

Instructional Goals

My goal this year is to work with your child to ensure every effort is made to help your child succeed this school year. We will work on organizational skills to ensure you and your child are aware of upcoming information, assignments, trips or other activities throughout the year.  I will provide instruction to students on a daily basis through direct instruction, modeling, peer tutoring, or group work. 

 

Grading Rubric

100-90 = A

89-80 = B

79-70 =C

69-60 =D

59 -Below = F

 

**10 point grading scale will be used for Middle Schools unless changed by WCPS.**

Ø  All assignments will be worth 100 points unless otherwise stated.

Ø  Students will be provided an opportuninty to complete any missing assginments during the 9 weeks grading period.

Ø  Students will receive grades in the following ways: individual daily assignments, group assignments, tests, quizzes, class participation, and projects.

Ø  Students who refuse to complete any graded assginments will not receive full grading credit for the assignment.

        -Text Messages sent and received to and from parent/guardians

   -Please email or call me with any concerns or questions you may have. 

    -IEP meetings will be held during the year to meet with parents/guardians. 

    -Information folders will be sent home daily to be initialized by parent/guardian.
