Welcome to our class! We will have our first day of class on August 23rd!
Our class consists of 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th-grade students. We serve each student based on individual needs. The classroom is self-contained with a variety of individualized learners. We enjoy hands-on activities, science experiments, arts and crafts, and using our imaginations! We are excited to announce that we are now evolving to a life skills classroom. We have the equipment and necessities to teach life skills through cooking, cleaning, washing, and preparing students for independent living!
We have a classroom pet named Bruno! He is a leopard gecko! You will learn all about his species and his habitat while being in the class.
Each week we have a new set of 10 vocabulary words. There is homework Monday-Thursday with different assignments using the words of the week. Students should read every night for at least 20 minutes.
Some of the interesting subjects we learn about are medieval times, ancient history, moon, space, flowers, soil, Black History, Women's History, Day of the Dead, and energy. We bring learning alive in the classroom so that every student can learn in his or her own way!
This year we will incubate chicken eggs and watch them as they grow. We will also watch the life cycle of butterflies through live caterpillars!!!
We will be practicing social distancing and keeping ourselves clean and healthy! Remember to bring your mask each day!
