HEALTH/PE SCHEDULE 2020-21 (PLAN B)

Eastern Wayne Middle School will observe the following schedule for Health/PE for the 2020-2021 school year.  On days designated “Health,” the designated teacher will be teaching health to all assigned students in the designated Health classroom.  Rotations will be on a two (2) week basis since we are running the A/B day schedule this year.

The Essential Standards for Health will be utilized at all times and Health and PE should be structured with lesson plans available.  At no time should students be left unsupervised in any area.  Free play will be held to a minimum, as structured activities are necessary to ensure appropriate student behavior and is also mandated by the Essential Standards.  In addition, social distancing must be observed at all times.  In the event that your class is scheduled to be outside and the weather does not permit outside activities—rain, extreme cold, extreme heat—it will be necessary for two (2) classes to occupy the gym at the same time.  Under Plan B, you will have no more than 15 students per class so social distancing in the gym or classroom should not be a problem.  In this situation, the two classes will be separated, with each of the two classes being designated to occupy one-half of the gym—decide among yourselves which half you will occupy.  At no time should the two classes of students be allowed to participate in activities together.  When two classes must occupy the gym at the same time, students should be closely monitored and supervised.  At no time should one coach supervise two classes—each coach is responsible for his/her own group of students.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
