Heatley, Jennifer

Welcome to Mrs. Heatley's Honeybee Hive!  I look forward to working with you and your child during the year. I am a firm believer that every child can learn!  I have been working with children in the public school setting since 2000.  I began my journey at Meadow Lane as an assistant in a 3rd grade classroom.  Later, I transferred to Rosewood Elementary and worked with Kindergarten and Preschool children.  During those years, I earned my teaching degree and began teaching at Carver Elementary.  I taught 1st grade, a multi-age class of 1st and 2nd, and now I'm teaching 2nd grade.  I have continued to grow and learn as an educator so that I can apply the best strategies and practices when teaching my students.  I am a life long learner and I am going to encourage your child to be the same.

I am originally from Florida.  As a child, my family moved around because my father was in the Air Force. I had the privilege of living in Germany for many years which I really enjoyed.  I have also lived in Colorado, Texas, and Utah. We moved to North Carolina when my husband, who was also in the Air Force, got stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB.

My husband and I have two children, Jackie and CJ.  We also have six amazing grandchildren! We get so much joy from the family we have created and look forward to what God has in store for us!
