Julia Hafner

My name is Julia Hafner. I grew up in Northwest Ohio and went to Concordia College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, earning a BA in elementary education. I taught kindergarten in Alexandria, Louisiana for a year. I lived in Iowa for about 20 years, substitute teaching and teaching reading and math in grades 1-3. After moving back to Ohio, I earned a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in special education and reading at the University of Findlay. I also taught grades 2-3 and 3-4 and reading at Hope Learning Academy in Toledo for 6 years.
I just moved to Wilson in the summer of 2019. I have 3 adult children. My daughter graduated from the University of North Carolina, Pembroke and lives in Wilson, North Carolina with her husband and 3 small children. My older son lives in Eugene, Oregon and works for Valvoline. My youngest son graduated from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio and is moving to Eugene, Oregon.
I am enjoying learning about my new surroundings and spending time with my grandchildren. I am looking forward to gardening in my new backyard. I also enjoy books and listen to audio books when driving.
I am looking forward to the upcoming school year with students and staff with the Carver Heights Eagles.
