Wayne County Public Schools is excited to have the School-Based Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) program as an additional support service to our military students.
You may be asking the question: What is an MFLC? A certified counseling professional—i.e. Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)—who helps military Service Members and their families understand the impact of deployments, family reunions following deployments and other stresses related to military life. MFLC services are intended to augment existing military support services.
The program is approved and funded by the US Air Force/DOD for the following WCPS schools with larger concentrations of military-connected students:
Charles B Aycock High
Eastern Wayne High
Greenwood Middle
Meadow Lane Elementary
Northeast Elementary
Northwest Elementary
Norwayne Middle
Rosewood Elementary
Tommy's Road Elementary
Wayne School of Engineering
Please ensure that your student has a consent form on file in order to regularly access school-based MFLC support services: Consent Form MFLC.pdf
