The mission of Wayne County Public
Schools Migrant Education program is to provide continuous support to
increase academic achievement for migrant students who are relentlessly
overcoming difficulties due to the hardships brought on by a transient
lifestyle. The Migrant Education program provides support for students
and families to ensure a smooth transition into Wayne County Public
Schools. All services provided are free and confidential.
The Migrant Education program serves the following students:
- Age 3-21;
- Have not yet received a high school diploma or its equivalent;
- Have moved into a school district within the last 36 months;
- Whose
parents, guardians, spouses, or selves have moved due to economic
necessity to obtain or seek work in agricultural production or
fisheries.
