Our Assistant Principal-Jennifer Heatley

Jennifer Heatley

Mrs. Jennifer Heatley is a firm believer that every child can learn!  She has been working with children in the public school setting since 2000.  She began her journey at Meadow Lane as an assistant in a 3rd-grade classroom.  Later, she transferred to Rosewood Elementary and worked with Kindergarten and Preschool children.  During those years, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Mount Olive University and began her teaching career. She has continued to grow and learn as an educator so that she can apply the most effective strategies and practices. While she earned her Master’s degree in School Administration and Curriculum and Instruction from Gardner Webb University, she also took on many leadership roles which included Multi-Tiered Systems of Support coach, Beginning Teacher Mentor, School Improvement Team member, and professional development presenter. She is a lifelong learner and plans to encourage the staff and students to be the same.

She is originally from Florida.  As a military child, her family moved around because her father was in the Air Force. She had the privilege of living in Germany for many years which she really enjoyed.  She also lived in Colorado, Texas, and Utah. In 1994, she moved to North Carolina when her husband, who was also in the Air Force, was stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB.

She and her husband have two children, Jackie and CJ.  They also have six amazing grandchildren! They get so much joy from the family they have created and look forward to what God has in store for them!
