Change is something that we all know impacts young children in so many ways. At no point in their young lives have they gone through and endured more change than during the COVID-19 pandemic. With change many times comes the creation of anxiety and worrisome feelings for children. The good news is that there are many things you can do as parents to support your son or daughter during the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce the amount of stress they are facing and help build resiliency and coping skills that will serve useful to them for a lifetime.

Create a Routine- Kids thrive on consistency and routine.
Manage the Media - Be sure to reduce the amount of news your child is hearing/viewing.
Look for Signs of Anxiety - Do frequent check-ins
Teach and Model Coping Skills  - Be a model of helpful and useful strategies your kids can use when feeling upset or worried.
Seek Help/Support - Reach out to friends, family, teachers, or counselors if you feel that you are unable to give the needed supports to your child.
