Northwest Elementary
Northwest Elementary is the second largest elementary school in Wayne County. We serve approximately 780
students in grades K - 5. We are located near the towns of Pikeville, Fremont, and Goldsboro (

). Many of our students come from military families stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro. All students are provided with art, P.E., music, computer, and guidance classes. Our cafeteria provides breakfast and lunch. The 4-H program provides an after school program that is located onsite. We have two playgrounds on campus, and as a full community school we have baseball and soccer fields used by the Northwest Youth Sports Association.
In our school, we have 32 internet-connected computers in the computer lab, and most classrooms have at least two internet-connected computers available for student use. We have wireless capability, and we have 6 mobile carts with iPads available for students, as well as a cart of laptops. Additionally, all homeroom classes have Brightlinks, Apple T.V.'s, and document cameras. Each certified staff member has an iPad for instructional use. We are always striving to better our students, and this year 4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to participate in the Ambassadors Club. Northwest prides itself in being a big family with high expectations.
