PERIOD OF REMOTE LEARNING/BUILDINGS CLOSED
Per the North Carolina Governor's Executive Order, all NC school buildings will remain CLOSED for students for the remainder of the academic year. During this time, NC public schools are operating in a period of remote learning.

Administration

Principal and Vice Principal

Connie Harrell, Principal
Mrs. Harrell is thrilled to be at GWD and in her 30th year in education!  Mrs. Harrell is in her 5th year with Wayne County and was a product of Norwayne, and an Aycock graduate.  She is married with two children, and has a BA in English from Methodist College, an MA in English Education from Pembroke State, and an add on licensure in School Administration from East Carolina University.  She is a National Board Certified Teacher and taught for 20 years before moving into administration.  She is in her 10th year of administration and served as an Assistant Principal and Principal in Duplin County before moving back to Wayne County.  
 
Thomas Presley, Vice Principal 
Mr. Presley is in his first year as an administrator and 7th year in education!  Mr. Presley graduated high school from Charles B. Aycock and has a BS in Sports Management from Catawba College where he played college football in 2008.  He is recently married and obtained his teaching licensure from ECU in 2011.  Mr. Presley was selected as a NC Principal Fellow in 2017.  
 
At Greenwood, we hold high expectations for all students while providing the support needed for students to succeed.  Realizing that parental support is key to this success, we encourage involvement of parents in their child's education.  We are passionate about each child achieving their maximum potential!
