Our Purpose
The purpose of the athletic department is to provide and promote the interscholastic athletic program at Goldsboro High School. The desire of the athletic department is that the interscholastic athletic program is an integral part of the total educational program of the school. The program should offer opportunities, to assist in the development of positive relationships and goodwill, promote self-realization, all-around growth, and good citizenship, and serve the institution.

To instill within the student-athlete...
  • the self-discipline necessary to participate in athletics.
  • the awareness that his/her actions not only affect the athlete, but also his/her teammates, coaches, school, community, and family.
  • that winning is a team effort and concept.
  • a realization of the effort by the coaches and administration to provide equality for all participants in the enforcement of training.
