Charlie Davis is a dedicated student advocate and school leader who is excited to contribute to the great work being done in the Brogden community as the new Principal of Brogden Middle School. He is committed to nurturing the potential of every student, helping them grow into confident leaders within their classrooms, schools, and communities. Charlie has a deep, abiding belief in the genius, brilliance, and possibility of all students, and he is passionate about doing the work to support students, families, and staff on this shared journey.
Charlie began his education career at Brogden Primary School in 2007. Since then, he has taken on various roles during his time as an educator in Wayne, Wilson, Lenoir, and Cumberland counties. Charlie currently holds a Master of Public Administration from Post University. A 2019 recipient of the North Carolina Principal Fellows Scholarship, Charlie completed NC State University's Principal Preparation Program to earn a Master of School Administration degree in May 2021. With 18 years of experience in education, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a collaborative spirit to his leadership.
Charlie is known for being an agile problem solver who listens carefully, embraces feedback, and is able to attend to students’ social-emotional well-being while building systems to improve academic success. He previously served as an Assistant Principal at Spring Creek Middle and Norwayne Middle School, where he partnered with staff, students, and families to create a positive, inclusive environment where students felt valued and empowered to be curious thinkers.
At the heart of Charlie’s calling as an educator is the knowledge that, together with staff and families, "We are fueling, informing, and educating the next generation of community leaders."
