Battle of the Books is an exciting reading competition that challenges students to showcase their knowledge of a diverse selection of books. Teams from schools across the district read, discuss, and compete in quiz-style matches to test their comprehension and recall. This engaging program fosters a love of reading, teamwork, and critical thinking, encouraging students to explore literature in a fun and competitive environment.
Each year Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in Wayne County compete in the NC Battle of the Books. Students who win at the district move on to compete at the regionals and state levels. Talk to your school library media coordinator about their school-based team.
