Hello Norwayne Middle School community!

I'm Lorrie Kester, and I am so happy to be back. Norwayne holds a special place in my heart—I began my teaching career here in 2007 as an 8th-grade math teacher, returned in 2019 as an assistant principal, and now, I am thrilled to be your principal.

My journey to education was shaped by my nine years of service in the Marine Corps, stationed at New River Air Station and in Okinawa, Japan. I have degrees in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems, a master's in Middle Grades Education, and a degree in administration. But my most important role is as a member of my family, who I love more than anything—they are truly my heartbeat.

I believe every student has the right to learn, and every teacher deserves the opportunity to teach. My mission, along with the amazing NMS staff, is to create a safe and focused environment where we can deliver daily, high-quality lessons. Our goal is to empower our students with the knowledge and skills they need to "level up" and be successful.

I am excited to continue this journey with all of you. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your students' lives as we work together for the future of our community.
