Registration Process


All student registration links and information can be found on Wayne County Public School's website.

Verify District Boundaries: Click here (link to locator) to find your child’s home school.  

  1. Complete Online Registration: Register the new student for their neighborhood school using the online enrollment system and upload all required documents.

  2. Registration Review: The Enrollment Center and/or school-level Data Management staff will review registrations in the order they are received.

    • Timeline: For current school year enrollment, the review may take up to two business days.

    • Confirmation: If all information and documents are correct and complete, the registration will be processed. You will receive an email with your child’s student identification number.

    • Follow-Up: If any information or documents are missing, the Enrollment Center or school-level data manager will contact you via email or phone to request the necessary additions or corrections.

  3. School Start Date: The school will contact you directly to finalize the student's start date and share information about their schedule.

Documentation Needed:


1. TWO Proofs of Residence
For SJAFB Residents: (Only one verification)
Example: Letter from Housing Office, Copy of Lease Agreement from HousingOffice, Statement from Billeting, or current PCS orders.  MUST be current within one month.

All other residents: Please provide two verifications of the items listed below:

  • Current driver’s license

  • Current automobile registration

  • Current utility bill

  • Current cable/satellite bill

  • Current telephone bill

  • Property tax records

  • Mortgage document or copy of deed

  • Residential lease

  • Voter Registration form

** All documents must show the name of the parent or legal guardian and the street or road address of the residence and be current within one month.

2. Shot Record

NCLaw states that a student cannot attend school without a Kindergarten Health Assessment and required immunizations. The law gives the parent 30 calendar days to obtain the necessary documentation and to provide the school with a copy of the documentation.

3. Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
Students registering for kindergarten must be 5 on or before August 31st.  

4. Picture ID for Parent/Guardian

5.  Any custody documentation (if applicable)
