Mr. John Waters

Mr. John E. Waters currently serves as the principal of Wayne Early Middle College High School.  He attended Norfolk State University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree.  He later attended East Carolina University where he received his Masters Degree in School Administration.  He has served in education for over 26 years.  

He began his educational journey in 1997 in Lenoir County as a Health and Physical Education Teacher.  In 2002 he acquired Special Education certification and became an Exceptional Children's Teacher.  He transitioned to Wayne County in 2010 to Goldsboro High School where he resumed the duties of teaching Health and Physical Education.  Along the journey, he has coached Basketball, Cross Country Track, Football and Baseball (2x State Champions).

Feeling the need to serve in a greater capacity, Mr. John E. Waters transitioned to Johnston County in 2015 where he became an assistant principal.  He returned to Wayne County in January of 2022, where he was named principal of Eastern Wayne Middle School.  In addition, he has also served as principal of Eastern Wayne High School.
