Policies and Procedures

Policies and Procedures

The goal of North Drive Elementary’s Media Center/Coordinator it to provide flexible access to instructional services (media coordinator) in addition to flexible access to school library media center resources.  We are able to accommodate individuals and groups simultaneously.

North Drive Elementary has a full time media coordinator and a part time media assistant.  This allows us to implement the State/County mandate for a fully flexible schedule with all-day open checkout.

Library Lessons
All library time is reserved on the Media Center calendar, accessible via Google calendar.  Library lessons last 30 minutes, including check out, and follow the same time frame as the specials' schedule.  Any teacher who is having difficulty accessing the calendar should see the media coordinator.

Library Use for Special Events

If you need to use the library for a special event, please see the media coordinator to avoid schedule problems.

If you need any type of presentation equipment, please let the media staff know prior to the scheduled presentation.  This will allow adequate time to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.

Computer Mini-Lab

All computer mini lab time is reserved using the mini lab calendar, accessible via Google calendar.  Mini lab sessions last 30 minutes and follow the same time frame as the specials' schedule.  Any teacher who is having difficulty accessing the calendar should see the media coordinator.

Rules for the computer mini-lab are posted.

The first class in may boot up the computers if they are not already turned on.  The last class out may properly shut down the computers for the evening.

Report any computer problems to media staff.
