During its monthly meeting this week, the Wayne County Board of Education approved the following principal hire:
Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design assistant principal, Joshua Mallory, was approved as the principal for the new Wayne School of Technical Arts (WSTA). WSTA is scheduled to open on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in August 2022.
“Mr. Mallory has been a school administrator for well-established magnet and specialized focused area high schools in Wake County for the past seven years,” states Dr. David Lewis, WCPS superintendent. “Mr. Mallory is very excited to help lead and establish a new innovative school here in Wayne County. Our district leadership team looks forward to working with him in the coming months in the launch of WSTA.”
Mr. Mallory began his career in education in 2007 as an English & Language Arts teacher at Pasquotank High School in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He transitioned to school administration in 2013 as the assistant principal at Bertie High School. The following year he served as the assistant principal at Bertie Middle School. In 2015, he was named assistant principal at William G. Enloe Magnet High School in Wake County. In 2019, he was named assistant principal at Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design. Mr. Mallory holds a bachelor’s degree in English education and a master’s degree in school administration.
