Over the past two days, several major announcements have come out of Raleigh regarding public education. Yesterday, the State Board of Education approved policy updates regarding final grades for students K -11. The following resources and an FAQ have been developed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to assist families who may have questions regarding the State’s expectations for final grades. We are also working to develop local processes that are aligned with the State Department of Public Instruction guidelines for implementing final grades.
Additionally, this afternoon, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced that remote learning would continue for the remainder of the academic year. This means that while buildings will remain closed, teaching and learning will continue. We thank all of our families who are working with their children and helping them stay connected to their virtual classrooms and/or keeping up with their printed learning resources during this time.
