New Vaccine Requirements

There is a new vaccine requirement for the 2020-2021 school year.  Your child is required to have the Meningococcal vaccine at 17 years old, or upon entry into 12th grade, whichever comes first.  Currently, the Wayne County Health Department is administering immunizations Monday-Friday, 8am-11:30am and 1pm-3pm.  Goldsboro Pediatrics requests parents call the main office at 919-734-4736 prior to the office visit.  If your student visits another pediatrician, please call their office for further instruction.  Please secure this vaccine for your student over the summer, if you have not already done so.  Your child will have 30 days from the start of 12th grade or their 17th birthday to obtain the vaccine.  After 30 days, students will be excluded from school until the vaccine is obtained.  Remember to obtain a copy of the immunization record to send to school as well for proof.
