Tabari Wallace

Tabari Wallace, EdS, has 26 years of teaching, administrative, and state-level leadership experience.Mr. Wallace holds a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation services, a master's degree in rehabilitation services, a master's degree in school counseling, a master's degree in school administration, and an educational specialist degree. It is worth noting that Mr. Wallace was the first two-year advisor to the State Board of Education, was appointed by Governor Cooper to the Craven Community College Board of Trustees, and by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tim Moore, to the Professional Educator Preparation & Standards Commission. Other distinctions include formerly serving as a NC Public Forum board member, NASSP National Principal of the Year Candidate, N.C. Human Capital Roundtable member, SBE Equity Goal Team member, NC Teacher Support Program Board Member, Principal Standards Commission member, Governor’s Crime Task Force member, Government & Community Affairs Committee member, former Teaching Fellows Commission, and a New Bern Redevelopment Commission Board member.

Tyshaun Bryant, Assistant Principal

My name is Ms. Tyshaun Bryant and I am a dedicated educator with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Teacher Certification from Elizabeth City State University and a Master's in School Administration from East Carolina University.

I have over 11 years of experience teaching at Carver Heights Elementary and Tommy’s Road Elementary School in the Wayne County Public School System. Additionally, I’ve spent 8 years coaching teachers both at the school and district levels.

I transitioned to an Assistant Principal role with Craven County Public Schools in August 2021 and returned to Wayne County Public Schools in January 2024. I am excited to be back working for Wayne County Public Schools at Carver Heights Elementary, serving students and staff.
