We are SO excited to welcome our students back to school on Monday! Our staff has been working hard to get everything ready, and we can’t wait to fill our classrooms and hallways with our students again.

GWD Families – Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

As we prepare to welcome our T-Birds back to school, we want to make sure everyone understands our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures. The first week will be an adjustment for all of us, so we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our students safe and traffic moving smoothly.

🚗 Morning Drop-Off

We will use the RIGHT LANE ONLY for morning drop-off. The left lane will be closed.
Please pull forward as far as possible and follow the directions of staff members. If we need to make any adjustments, staff will be there to guide you.
Please have students ready to exit the vehicle with all of their belongings.
For safety, students should walk in front of vehicles, never behind them.

🚙 Afternoon Pick-Up
All pick-ups will be in front of school.
We will use BOTH LANES for afternoon pick-up.
Cars will fill both lanes and come to a complete stop before students are allowed into the car rider area.
Students should pay close attention and watch for their ride.
Students should NOT enter the parking lot until all vehicles have completely stopped and staff gives directions.
Once both lanes are loaded, staff will release the vehicles. The next group of cars will then pull forward, stop, and the next group of students will be released.

🚌 Bus Riders
All buses will drop off and pick up at the Annex. Staff members will be stationed in this area to welcome students, supervise, and direct them where they need to go.

We know the first week or so will take some adjustment, and things may move a little slower as everyone learns the new routine. Thank you in advance for your patience, attention, and cooperation. Our number one priority is getting every T-Bird to and from school safely.

Monday, February 23 thru Wednesday, February 25, right after school we will be holding tryouts for Spring Sports at Greenwood Middle. Sports for the spring are: Girl's Softball, Girl's Soccer, Boys Baseball.

All students wanting to tryout need to have a current NCHSAA physical, be registered in Final Forms and have all parent and player forms signed, and have been cleared with grades and attendance from Semester 1.

We are currently collecting unopened, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. The bin is in the foyer near the sign in window. We are collecting through December 9. This is a wonderful opportunity to be a blessing!

Take a look in our Parent Document file to see some new items just added! You will find our 25/26 Parent Engagement Policy and our 25/26 Testing Schedule. Also we will be using a new school bus tracking and safety app called Here Comes The Bus. All buses will be GPS equipped so that they can be tracked. Please refer to the flyer to help you get signed up for your student!

Hello T-Birds, Welcome back to a new 25-26 school year. This is a reminder: All morning car riders are to enter the front entrance and can be dropped off as early as 8:15 am. Afternoon Car Riders: 5th & 6th students should be picked up using the athletic entrance. 7th & 8th students should be picked up using the front entrance. Thank you for your support.
