Parent Engagement & Information

Parents

Parents,

This section is just for you. We have links to valuable websites, information about our educational program, and general information about our school. Please use the menu to the left of the screen to access parent resource pages. Below you will find some information that will assist you throughout the year.

We hope you will find the information on this page helpful. We have included resources we believe will help support your child. We also have resources in our Parent Resource room. These resources are available for check-out. If you are interested in checking out educational resources to use with your child, contact Emily Coggins, NWE Instructional Coach or your child's teacher.

If you need assistance with any of the information listed, please reach out to me at any time.

 Sincerely,
Holly T. Ball
Principal

Would you like to monitor your child's grades and attendance anytime you wish?
Well, you can, and It's simple. When you enroll your child, an email is sent to the email address on file from Infinite Campus. The email will contain instructions and any access codes that are necessary to access your child's information. Once you have access, parents are able to view grades, attendance, etc. for their child. Please contact Mrs. Pam Thigpen, Data Manager if you are having trouble accessing Infinite Campus.

Do you Dojo?

ClassDojo that is. Our entire school uses ClassDojo to communicate events and information with our families. It also offers parents the opportunity to message their child's teachers, administration, and support staff. If you are not connected to ClassDojo, contact your teacher to receive the sign-up information you need.

Suggestions for Helping with Homework

  • Reward time spent on and progress towards completing homework.

  • Help your child develop a homework schedule that works for both of you.

  • Provide a suitable place for study - if possible, make it quiet and away from distractions.

  • Avoid making homework a punishment.

  • Talk to your child every day about homework assignments.  Go over the work.  See if it is complete.  Ask questions about it and take an active part in helping your child, but don't do the homework yourself.

  • Find out how much and what type of homework is being assigned.

  • Have high expectations for your child's learning and behavior.

  • Be a role model in getting work done before play.

  • Establish routines.

  • Read to younger children and have them read to you every night.

  • Contact your child's teacher to learn specific strategies to help with homework.
