Saturday, the 8th Grade Cobra Band and the CBA Falcon Band took on Kings Dominion! Both groups performed before judges that gave amazing praise to our talent musicians. Your Cobras came home with a rating of Excellent!! We're so incredibly proud of you all and can't wait to hear you Thursday night for your final bow as a Cobra Band.

Congratulations to our Cobra Choir for winning 1st place in AAA mixed choral ensemble at King's Dominion this past Saturday. They scored an excellent in their song selections! Go Cobra Choir!

LET'S CELEBRATE!!! It's School Lunch Hero Day! School Lunch Hero Day is celebrated annually on the first Friday in May. This annual observance is a chance to showcase what a difference school nutrition professionals make in the lives of every child who comes through the cafeteria. Our school lunch heroes provide nutritious school breakfasts and lunch meals, afterschool snacks, and summer meals to ensure no child goes hungry. They also provide nutrition education, support social-emotional learning, and promote healthy meal choices for students and staff. Thank you to Ms. Baker and her amazing team for what you do every day!!! #SLHD24

Norwayne Middle School Cobra Cheer Team Tryouts May 6th - 9th Norwayne Middle School Gym Immediately after school until 5:30. Please bring a water bottle! Please wear shorts and a t-shirt that fits.....no leggings and no oversized t-shirts. Must have current physical and concussion form filled out and signed on the first day of tryouts! There are no exceptions! Please see below! All athletes must have a valid physical (no older than 1 year) in Final Forms. Once you get a physical, you must create an account on Final Forms. In final forms, there are parts for both the parent and the student to fill out. After creating the account, upload the physical into final forms. TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!! Don't miss our annual Springtime with the Cobra's Band and Choir Concert!! Over 200 students making beautiful music will make your end of the year sweeter!

Military Band Students from all over North Carolina were nominated and selected to participate in the first ever Military Child Honor Band. The students were fed, given a t-shirt, and a certificate to mark the occasion. Thanks to many donors, this event was free for every student. Norwayne had two amazing students chosen, Kylie on flute and Gavin on trombone! We are so incredibly proud of you two and our other Wayne County students that were represented from Greenwood Middle, Rosewood Middle and Rosewood High School. 🩵💜💚 A YouTube link will be posted of the concert at a later date so stay tuned. Ms. Davis' 8th graders have been having fun learning about the properties of water and the ocean zones!

The last home soccer game went well!!! We're so proud of you girls!

Last night our Cobra and CBA Jazz Bands took the stage at Wayne Community College and played amazingly!! The Starlight Dance Band rocked the house then invited students to participate in a piece to show off their improvisation skills! It was a lovely night! Thank you WCC for hosting and to Starlight Dance Band for the use of your equipment! We can't wait until next year!
