911 Ceremony

Rosewood High School held a solemn ceremony on Wednesday to honor the lives lost during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Students, staff and community members gathered to reflect on the tragedy and pay tribute to the victims, survivors, and first responders.

Distinguished guests included Dr. Mark Whichard, Superintendent WCPS, Chaplain Andy Stovall and Mr. Jeff Hopper of Station 13 Rosewood Fire Department, and Mr. James Outerbridge, a survivor of both 1993 and 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.

Rosewood High School's JROTC led the ceremony with Lieutenant Carlie Jones and Major Seth Holley alongside the JROTC Color Guard. A flag retirement ceremony followed with explanation of the significance of each fold as the flag was respectfully retired.

RHS Band led by Mrs. McVey added to the patriotism of the ceremony. The event served as both a history lesson and a reminder of resilience, sacrifice, and unity that emerged from the tragedy. Rosewood High School continues to ensure that future generations understand the importance of remembering those who perished on 9/11.
