LETTER TO PARENTS May 6, 2025

Dear Parents of our SCHS Class of 2025,

Congratulations and thank you for the role you have played in getting your child to his/her graduation. We are proud of your child’s accomplishments and want our graduation day to be a special one. We are sure that you want that too! In order to ensure our ceremony goes as smoothly as possible and that each graduate receives the recognition they deserve, we want to be sure you have the following information.

(Please note that we have been providing this information to your child all year.)

Graduation is on June 7th at 10:00 am in Kornegay Arena on the University of Mount Olive campus.

Graduation practice will take place on June 6th at 1:00 pm at the arena. It is a requirement that your student attend graduation practice in order to participate in the ceremony on Saturday. We will practice the entire ceremony, and most importantly, this is when students receive graduation tickets.

Each student will receive 6 tickets. If your student will not need all 6 tickets, please encourage them to share this information with other students who may need more.

All fees owed must be paid by June 2nd in order for your student to receive his/her diploma at graduation.

The doors of the arena will open at 9:00 am on Saturday morning for students and guests. Students should arrive at 9:00 am in order to get in line and be ready for the processional that will begin the ceremony promptly at 10:00 am. Please be sure that all guests arrive early enough to be seated by 10:00 am. The doors to the arena will be locked when the processional begins and will not be unlocked until all graduates are seated. Late guests will be admitted, but only after the processional. Please remain seated once the ceremony begins.

Students have dress guidelines for graduation. Males should wear dark pants, white shirts, dark ties, and dress shoes. Females should wear dresses or dark dress pants and dress shoes.

Students may ONLY wear school issued cords, stoles, caps, tassels, etc. Students may NOT decorate graduation caps.

Every graduate and their family deserve to hear their name called at graduation, so please refrain from applauding, yelling, or any other vocal or noise displays when your child’s name is called. Mr. Singh will give everyone a chance to applaud and celebrate after all graduates have received diplomas.

Gifts of balloons or banners that would obstruct another guest’s view, will not be allowed in the arena.

Again, thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s life. We are proud of all SCHS 2025 graduates. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email.

Thank you,
