
May is a busy month! Here are some important events that we have coming up this month.


Congratulations to all of the track & field athletes who participated in the regional tournament this past weekend! You represented Southern Wayne well. The following athletes qualified and will compete in the State Championship Meet on Friday.
Angel Harmon- 400-meter dash,
Naeem Longmire, Manesse Remedor, Skervenson Aphael & Sean Moore- Men's 4x100 and 4x200 relay
Jaylen Carr will also be going as an alternate for both relay teams
Skervenson Aphael- 300-meter hurdles

We are proud to announce the 2024-2025 Junior Marshals. Using the weighted GPA scale, Junior Marshals are the top 7% of the junior class at the end of the first semester. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication, earning them this prestigious honor. Congratulations to our Junior Marshals!

Gage Brewer - Men's 800m
Jaylen Carr - Men's 4x2 and 4x1 (Alternate)

Azariah Jordan - Women's 100m, 200m, and 4x2
Tyniah Lofton - Women's 4x2
Naeem Longmire - Men's 4x2 and 4x1
Ivory Moore - Men's long jump
Sean Moore - Men's 100m, 4x2 and 4x1
Mannese Remedor - Men's 4x2 and 4x1

FTA provided a wonderful lunch for our staff today. Thank you to the FTA students, advisors, and the teachers that helped with the cooking. Also, thank you to Case Farms for donating the chicken for the meal. #teacherappreciationweek

FTA has given teachers a small gift every day this week. Thank you to the FTA students and advisors for all of the different ways you have show appreciation this week! Also, thank you to Mt. Olive Pickle Company for donating pickles for our teachers! #teacherappreciationweek





The school provided lunch for the staff today. The food was catered by Clara Hall, and it was amazing. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen! #teacherappreciationweek



Our cafeteria staff work hard everyday to provide breakfast and lunch for our students. We are thankful for all that they do everyday. They are truly School Lunch Heroes!


Thank you to the Pikeville Dawg House for providing breakfast again this morning. The link sausage sandwiches were delicious! #teacherappreciationweek


Thank you to The Bridge Mount Olive for providing lunch for our staff today! We loved the variety of casseroles and the salad. Everything was delicious! #teacherappreciationweek


The Science National Honor Society welcomed teachers to school with coffee this morning! What a great way to start the day! #teacherappreciationweek




Tyler McKee placed 8th in the regional golf tournament yesterday and will playing in state tournament on Monday! Way to go Tyler!! #saintpride


Today, we also want to celebrate our school nurse and WISH Staff. Thank you all for the many things that you do! Happy National Nurses Day!


We want to give a shoutout to the Pikeville Dawg House and the FFA for the amazing breakfast and lunch they provided for our staff today! Thank you for making our staff feel appreciated!




We're proud to recognize our April Teachers of the Month- Kelly Wiggs, chosen by staff, and Dheve Tan, chosen by students. Your hard work and dedication to our students and our school does not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do!



Today our teachers were treated to a Cinco de Mayo themed lemonade bar for teacher appreciation. Thank you Brenda Collins and Wendy Davidson for making this happen!


Tyler McKee plays in the 3A East Regional Golf Match on Monday, May 5. His tee-off time is 8:50. Good luck, Tyler!


Last night, we had a great turnout for our 8th-grade signing. These students signed a commitment letter to play football at Southern Wayne next year. We are excited for these future Saints!

We can't let the day pass without giving a shoutout to someone very special. Mrs. Carter, thank you for your passion, unwavering dedication, and leadership. We love and appreciate you. Happy National Principals' Day!
