Elementary Before-Care & After-Care Services
Need a little extra time before or after the school day? Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Wayne County Public Schools will offer Elementary School Before-Care and After-Care programs for WCPS students enrolled at participating schools.
These fee-based programs are designed to provide families with a safe, convenient option for student care outside of regular school hours. Programs will operate under established guidelines and expectations for participating families. Click on Parent Handbook to review guidelines and expectations.

Grantham Elementary
Meadow Lane Elementary
North Drive Elementary
Northeast Elementary
Northwest Elementary

Spring Creek Elementary
Tommy’s Road Elementary
Note 1: Registration does not guarantee placement in a Before-Care or After-Care Program. All students will initially be placed on a waitlist. Once a site is opened and expected staff to student ratios can be met (see below ratios), families will receive an email from the Procare system with an invitation to join the class.
Note: 2: Students who cannot be placed in the requested program(s) will remain on a waitlist. Families of students on a waitlist will only be contacted if a space opens up for their child in a class.
Note 3: Because Pre-K students are not school age, they are not eligible for WCPS Before-Care and After-Care services.
Schedule of Operation:
Before-Care Program 7:10 AM until 8:10 AM
After-Care Program: 3:45 PM until 5:15 PM
The After-Care Program includes homework time, playtime, and a snack will be provided.
Rates:
Registration Fee: $10 per child
Weekly Rate for Before-Care: $15.00 per child
Weekly Rate for After-Care: $22.50 per child
Weekly Rate for Before-Care and After-Care: $37.50 per child

Ready to register?
A minimum of 15 students must be registered in a Before-Care or After-Care program for the program to be offered at a school. Expected staff to student class ratios are 1:15; 2:30, 3:45, etc. Class sizes will be determined based on available staff and the number of registered students.
There is a required $10 registration fee, plus a $0.75 administrative fee, that must be paid at the time of registration. Both fees are non-refundable.
