Anticipated Course of Study for WSE Students

This document contains the courses that we require at WSE and also displays college course opportunities as students advance each year. While the middle school schedule is firm, high school student schedules may vary.

College Requirements

Wayne School of Engineering knows that post secondary educational partners are extremely beneficial to our students.  While enrolled in WSE, it is our goal that each student will complete 30 or more hours of college course work to meet graduation requirements.  This can be done if a student takes at least one class per semester.  All tuition fees and textbook fees are paid for as long as the student is enrolled at WSE.

Students who take advantage of college courses have the option to continue their high school enrollment for a 5th year to complete their 2-year Associate degree. To qualify, a student must have completed at least 30 semester hours before the end of senior year. If interested in 5th year option, you must notify Mrs. Carie Reese during fall semester of senior year.

Internship

At Wayne School of Engineering, we feel that partnerships with local businesses are extremely important to the success of our students. This helps add relevance to the curriculum which ultimately leads to a higher motivation to succeed. Our students and teachers will have the opportunities to interact with local business men and women, which will help to guide students into a choice for a career field. Business partners will be developed to help teachers design projects and then will help to evaluate those finished projects.

Internships offer a valuable experience and are required by students at Wayne School of Engineering. These internships will be done during a student’s senior year.  Sixty hours must be completed to meet graduation requirements and students must complete a product for the host organization, complete research in the area of the internship, and write reflections about the experience.

*There may be internship interest of which we are unable to meet the need; those students are encouraged to complete the same number of hours in a similar field or through volunteer work.
