Hello Aviators,
Aviators....Please be advised....Monday is a Federal Holiday. Therefore the Visitor's Center on base will be closed. If anyone needs a pass to get on base because they are on the EAL and/or are arriving outside of the arrival and dismissal times, they will need to park at the Visitor Center and walk to the shack at the gate to get a pass.
Due to the potential of our area receiving an abundance of rain overnight, WSTA (and WCPS) will be operating on a Two-Hour Delay Schedule on Tuesday, September 17th. All students and staff will report two hours later than usual. This means buses will run 2 hours later than normal. The official start to the WSTA school day will be 12:10 pm (2 hours later than normal). See the schedule below.
Monday, August 26th is the first day of school for Wayne School of Technical Arts. The WSTA staff is looking forward to an amazing school year!
Please take some time to review the bell schedule for next week. Please note, we will begin with homeroom every day for the first week of school. Students are reminded to bring your schedule you received at open house with you on the first day of school. Students who were not able to attend the open house may stop by the office on Monday to pick up their schedule before reporting to homeroom. See you Monday!
WSTA will create an Entry Authorization List (EAL) for SJAFB Security Forces.
All students will receive the WCPS Authorization to Release Student Form at Open House. The names listed on this form will be used to created the EAL. This is a list of emergency contacts that may need to pick up a student in the event a parent is not able to come to campus. If they need to come to the school, these individuals will need to stop at the visitor center to get a a temporary pass. They must bring with them a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration.
The deadline to submit names for the EAL is Tuesday, September 10.
Open House will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 5 pm - 7 pm. A special Open House for new 6th and 9th grade families will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 5 pm - 7 pm. This will be a time for students to receive schedules, confirm bus information and to meet their teachers.
